National Highways Stakeholder Sentiment Survey 2026
Overview
Building better working relationships
England’s motorways and strategic A roads connect people, places and opportunities across the country, from major cities like Manchester, Birmingham and Norwich, to coastal, rural and scenic areas such as Cornwall, the Lake District and the Norfolk Broads. Our network supports everyday journeys, links businesses to international gateways, and helps people reach work, education and some of England’s most iconic destinations.
At National Highways, our role is to operate, maintain and improve this network so it works safely, reliably and sustainably for everyone who relies on it. This includes improving safety, reducing congestion, caring for the environment and using new technology to support better journeys.
But delivering this well isn’t just about the roads themselves, it’s also about how we work with people and organisations like you. How we listen, communicate and engage really matters, and that’s what this survey focuses on.
Our 2026 annual stakeholder sentiment survey is designed to understand your experience of engaging with National Highways: how our behaviours and ways of working are perceived, and how effectively we build and maintain relationships. It’s not about future road building or strategic investment decisions.
We want to understand what relationships are working well, where things could be better, and what matters most in your interactions with us. Your feedback helps us learn, improve and strengthen the way we work with you and others across our network.
Thank you for taking the time to share your views. Your feedback is genuinely important to us and will help shape how we engage and work with you and others in the future. Click below to start the survey and make your voice heard.
